Take a helicopter ride to New Zealand's highest peak, Mt Cook / Aoraki ...

No other flight gives you so much value. On your way to New Zealand's highest peak (12,316ft) you will experience picturesque farmland, coastal forests and pristine lake.

You then arrive with the awesome sight of Franz Joseph Glacier.It was named after emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria by the German explorer, Julius von Haast in 1865. We climb up the glacier to take in this superb view before making our way past Mount Cook and Tasman.

We then take a look at the Fox Glacier Neve' looking over the snowfield and deep crevases. Fed by four alpine glaciers, Fox Glacier falls 2,600m on its 13km journey from the Southern Alps down to the coast, and although retreating throughout most of the last 100 years, it has been advancing since 1985 at an average of about a meter a day.[1]

After this we will make our way North to the Garden of Eden snowfield area. After viewing this special area with several glaciers, we fly north again to land in the Southern Alps. Exit the helicopter to take in the awesome view as well as a few photos. Reboard the chopper to fly back to land in Hokitika.
